Play Alaska Solitaire

Getting Started

Your goal in Alaska solitaire is to win by moving all cards from the tableau to the foundation piles, building up in suit from Ace to King.

You start with seven tableau columns and four empty foundations.

How To Play

Alaska solitaire follows the same rules as Yukon solitaire with the following two differences:

  1. Sequences are built by suit, not by alternating color.
  2. You can build up as well as down. This gives you additional options to move cards.

Like Yukon, you can move multiple face up cards from one column to another in Alaska solitaire, even if the group is not in sequence. So long as the first card you are moving forms a descending or ascending sequence and is the same suit of the card it is moved onto. For example, the three of diamonds could have a Jack and a seven on it. This group could be moved to the two of diamonds or the four of diamonds.

A King, or a group of cards headed by a King, can be placed in an empty column.

The game is won when the cards are stacked on the foundations, in ascending order from Ace to King.

Scoring

The game keeps count of the number of moves you make and measures the time it takes to finish the game. So be sure to check the high scores table to see how you compare with other players.
